We have some avid birdwatchers at Edgemont Highlands, and they have been kind enough to keep a list of the species that they have sited in our community.
To start with, we have Mallard Ducks, Turkey Vultures, Northern Goshawks, Red Tailed Hawks and Prairie Falcons.
In the Woodpecker category we have seen Red-naped Sapsuckers, Willamson’s Sapsuckers, Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers and Northern Flickers.
In the Warbler category, we’ve seen Orange-crowned, Nashville, Virginia’s, Yellow-rumped, Townsend’s, Grace’s, MacGillivray’s and Wilson’s Warblers.
Keep an eye on this posting for additional sitings, and feel free to email us if you have any birds to add to this list! Always remember to respect wildlife and tread lightly in the forest.
